BEFs (Best Eels Forever) - Snowflake Morays

Hawaii is home to close to 40 species of morays (puhi). The snowflake is one of our favorites, not just for their pretty pattern, but also for their sweet disposition. They have blunt grinders rather than sharp fangs, used to grind crustaceans they eat. King Kamehameha likened their patterned bodies to kapa, the bark-based cloth used by Hawaiians, so its Hawaiian name is puhi-kapa!
